The UBA Foundation National Essay Competition 2022
The National essay competition is hosted and sponsored by United Bank of Africa (UBA) aimed at improving the knowledge base of senior secondary school students in Nigeria. Allowing them to express themselves and write creatively. In addition, students get the opportunity to win prizes in the form of educational grants to study in any university of their choice on the African continent. For this year’s competition, the topic chosen focuses on helping to promote creative and analytical thinking in students.
The essay topic selected for this year is: “Do you think that the lockdown during the Covid-19 pandemic was an essential measure in spite of the hardship it has brought economically? What would you have done differently and why?”
First position – 2.5 Million Naira
2nd position- 2 Million Naira
3rd position- 1.5 Million Naira
Requirements:
The competition is open to students in secondary schools across the country.
Applicants have to submit their complete contact details which include their full names, school and address of school, phone number, residential address and email addresses.
Applicants must also add photocopies of their verified original birth certificates or the data page of their international passport.
Application Deadline: The last date for submitting your application for this competition is 2nd October 2022.
How to Apply:
You are expected to write with pen and paper, then scan. Upload the scanned copies alongside your ID on the digital portal at www.ubagroup.com/national-essay-competition.
You can also submit the handwritten essays at any UBA office close to you if you prefer.
